  • English: The royal shield that Charles V & his mother, Queen Juana, granted to the city of Tlaxcala, is made on a red background of which stands out a golden castle with blue doors and windows of three towers, highlighting in the middle a pavilion with a rampant eagle that rules over a gold-colored field, & at the side ends a green palm tree protrudes; on the upper edge are the letters "I", & "K", & "F", & the first two correspond to the initials of the royal couple Isabella of Portugal & Charles V, while the third alludes to the Infante Philip, heir to the throne, & among the spaces of the initials are the two royal crowns that correspond to the aforementioned monarchs, & at the bottom edge you can see in the center 2 yellow bones crossed like blades, & at the ends 2 skulls, the green palm branches symbolize the glory & greatness of Spain & Tlaxcala.

The castle symbol of strength, power, greatness and wisdom. The flag that has as an image an eagle, which is the queen of birds, which is located in the highest tower of the castle symbolizes the victory, of the battles won, in addition the color of the eagle refers to the Holy Roman Empire, & the palms symbolize triumph & glory, & color is faith, & friendship, & freedom. The bones that are crossed and the calaberas, symbolize the union of the Tlaxcaltecas, even beyond death, united in eternity.

  • Español: El regio escudo que Carlos V y su señora madre, la reina doña Juana otorgó a la ciudad de Tlaxcala, está realizado en un fondo rojo del que resalta un castillo de oro con puertas y ventanas azules de tres torres, destacando en la intermedia un pabellón con un águila rampante que señorea sobre un campo color oro. En los extremos laterales sobresale una palmera verde; en el borde superior se encuentran las letras “I”, “K” y “F”. Las dos primeras corresponden a las iniciales de la pareja real Isabel de Portugal y Carlos V, mientras que la tercera alude al infante Felipe, heredero del trono. Entre los espacios de las iniciales destacan las dos coronas reales que corresponden a los monarcas citados. En el borde inferior se observa en el centro dos huesos amarillos cruzados a manera de aspas, y en los extremos dos calaveras, los ramos de palma verde simbolizan la gloria y grandeza de España y de Tlaxcala. El castillo simbolo de fortaleza, poder, grandeza y sabiduria. La bandera que tiene como imagen un aguila, que es la reina de las aves, la cual se encuentra ubicada en la torre mas alta del castillo simboliza la victoria, de las batallas ganadas, ademas el color del aguila da alusión al Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico. Las palmas simbolizan triunfo y gloria,el color es fé, amistad y libertad. los huesos que estan de forma cruzada y las calaberas, simbolizan la unión de los tlaxcaltecas, aun más allá de la muerte, unidos en la eternidad.
