This gorgeous MD-90 first flew on November 1, 1996. Despite its rather young age the sleek McDonnell Douglas-jet has had a life of many changes. Its first operator was Cyprus Turkish Airlines (as TC-KTA, flying the bird for only one year, until April 1998). It later served with Turkish Airlines (very briefly, July until December 1998 as TC-JHA) and Egyptian airline AMC as SU-BMR. The twin-engined beauty was stored at Victorville for two years before Swiss charter airline Hello reactivated it in 2004. In mid-2009 the MD-90 was phased out from Hello's fleet (also because Iceland Express did not renew their contract with Hello for a sublease) and, in a pleasant and surprising move, was picked up by Delta Air Lines in order to complement their fleet of MD-90s...it remains rocketing through the skies as N917DN.
