English: Grave of musician/bandleader Lawrence Welk at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California (section Y, tier 9, grave 110). Welk was born March 11, 1903 in Strasburg, North Dakota. The style of his traveling orchestra in the 1930s and 40s came be known as "champagne music". He hosted the television program The Lawrence Welk Show from 1955–82, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He died of pneumonia on May 17, 1992 in Santa Monica, California at age 89.
