Iván Duque Márquez (Spanish pronunciation: [iˈβan ˈdu.ke ˈmaɾkes]; born August 1, 1976) is a Colombian politician and economist. He was the 33rd President of Colombia from 7 August 2018 to 7 August 2022. Before, he was a senator for Bogota in the Senate of Colombia. He is a member of the Democratic Center Party.[1]

On March 11, 2018, Duque won the nomination to become the presidential candidate for the right coalition.[2] Duque was elected President of Colombia on June 17, 2018 after defeating Gustavo Petro 54% to 42% in the second round. On May 27, 2018 he won the first round of the presidential election with over 39% of the vote.[3]
