Jamal Lasri (in Arabic: جمال العسري; born 6 September 1973) is a Moroccan-Portuguese synthetic chemist.[1] He obtained his Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from the University of Valencia.[2] He is currently a Full Professor at King Abdulaziz University.[3] Lasri and coworkers published the first example of oxadiazoline and/or ketoimine palladium(II) complexes as highly efficient catalysts for Suzuki reaction in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) or in water.[4][5][6][7] He also discovered the Lasri condensation, the organic reaction of chalcone with a hydrazone to produce an azine and 3,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrazole.[8][9]
