Valle del Cauca is one of the 32 departments of Colombia. It is in the southwest of the country, being parts of the Andean Region and Pacific Region. It is named after the valley of the Cauca River. Its capital is Cali.

Valle del Cauca is known for being the powerhouse department of the Pacific and contains the important coastal city known for its seaports: Buenaventura. Valle del Cauca also has important inland cities known for Salsa Dancing and culture: Buga, Toro, and Cali. Cali is also known for its Sancocho soup made with chicken, potatoes, yuca, corn, cilantro/coriander and plantain, and for being the capital of football in Colombia.

This department also houses the highest Human Development Index and some of the highest GDP per capita in the country.
