Zaatari refugee camp is a refugee camp. It is located in Jordan, about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the Syrian border. It is one of the world's largest refugee camps.[1] it is the world's largest camp for Syrian refugees.[2] It developed into a permanent setltement, with a main street, and a market along the main street. In August 2015, UNHCR estimated a population of 79.900 people.[3] The camp covers an area of about 15 square kilometres (5.8 sq mi). Over time, Zaatari has grown to be Jordan's fourth-largest settlement.
