The five people in the election were John Cornyn (Republican Party), MJ Hegar (Democratic Party), Kerry McKennon (Libertarian Party), David Collins (Green Party), and Ricardo Turullols-Bonilla (independent). John Cornyn won the election and was reelected to the Senate for the fourth time.

A primary election was held for the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Five people were in the Republican primary election and twelve people were in the Democratic primary election.
