A Complete Unknown is a 2024 American biographical musical drama movie directed by James Mangold. It is about American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. It is based on the 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald.
Timothée Chalamet (who also produces) stars as Dylan, with Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, Dan Fogler, Norbert Leo Butz, and Scoot McNairy in supporting roles.
A Complete Unknown was released in the United States by Searchlight Pictures on December 25, 2024. The movie received positive reviews from critics. It was named one of the top ten films of 2024 by the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review.[8]
It received three nominations at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards (including Best Motion Picture – Drama) and four at the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards (including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture).
