The Alexander Dennis Enviro200 (previously known as TransBus Enviro200) is a single decker low-floor midibus. It was built by Alexander Dennis from 2003 to 2018, It was first built by TransBus International until the company was sold to Alexander Dennis.

First generation (2003–2007)[change | change source]

The first generation TransBus Enviro200 was launched in 2003.

In 2004, Alexander Dennis made a hybrid model called Enviro200H, It went on trials in London; the uncommon engine and door layout,[1] and collapse of TransBus International in 2004, led to the Enviro200H being stopped. Many operators were choosing VDL SB120-based Wright Electrocity hybrid electric single-decker bus instead.

Second generation (2006–2011)[change | change source]

The second generation Enviro200 (also known as the Enviro200 Dart) was launched in August 2006. It was launched as a midibus and as a chassis.

Optare Esteem bus body and MCV Evolution bus body could be built on the Alexander Dennis Enviro200 chassis.[2][3]

In February 2007, Alexander Dennis launched the Enviro200 body on MAN 14.240 chassis.[4]

In 2008, Alexander Dennis made a hybrid-electric model called the Enviro200H.[5][1]

Third generation (2009–2018)[change | change source]

The third generation Enviro200 was launched in 2009. It was an improved second generation Enviro200, It had new front lights, new front and rear bumpers, LED daytime running lights under the front lights and a new interior.
