The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) is an international organization based in Amarillo, Texas, United States which preserves the American Quarter Horse. The association holds competitions, has an official registry and also has a hall of fame and museum. The organization was founded in 1940 in Fort Worth and has around 200,000 members.
