Attack on Erez crossing

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During the 7 October 2023 attack on Israel, Hamas's military wing the Qassam Brigades took control of the Erez Crossing, causing hundreds of Palestinian civilians to make their way to the crossing.[1][2] The attack caused damage to the facilities at the crossing, and the Erez Crossing stayed closed during the Israel–Hamas war that followed until 1 May 2024, when it was reopened for aid transports heading into the Gaza Strip.[3]
