Béon is a former commune. It is in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in the Ain department in east France. In 2009, 352 people lived in the commune. The inhabitants are the Béonais. The most important monuments in the commune are the Château de Béon, a 19th-century castle, and the ruins of the Château de Luyrieu, a feudal castle. The commune is twinned with Béon in the Yonne département. On 1 January 2023, it was merged into the new commune of Culoz-Béon.[1]
