Ban Biao

Ban Biao (3–54 AD) was historian and politician from Xianyang, Shaanxi during the Han dynasty. Ban was the nephew of a famous poet (Consort Ban) and concubine to Emperor Cheng. He wrote Treatise on the Mandate of Kings essay (王命論), that influenced Chinese concept of sovereignty. Essay was included in Wenxuan.[1]
