The Battle of al-Hasakah, also known as the Al-Hasakah riot[7][8][9][10][11] is a current Islamic State attack and prison riot. IS are freeing their group's imprisoned fighters from al-Sina'a prison in the Ghuwayran area of al-Hasakah city. This city is under the control of the Kurdish Administration of northern Syria.[12][13][14]
Battles previously occurred in al-Hasakah in 2015 and 2016.
