Blinkit is an Indian quick commerce company that delivers groceries and daily essentials to customers. It was started in 2013 as Grofers by Albinder Dhindsa and Saurabh Kumar. Blinkit is based in Gurugram, India. The company was acquired by Zomato in 2022.[1]
History
[change | change source]Blinkit began as an online grocery delivery platform under the name Grofers. In 2021, the company changed its name to Blinkit to reflect its shift to quick commerce, aiming to deliver items within 10–20 minutes.[2]
In 2022, Blinkit was acquired by Zomato, an Indian food delivery company, to expand its presence in the quick commerce market.[3][4][5]
