Chicken marsala is an Italian food made with thin chicken pieces in a sauce made of Marsala wine.[1]

Chicken marsala is made by covering thin pieces of chicken with flour and cooking them in a pan. The cooked chicken is covered in a sauce made by reducing marsala wine and garlic.[1]

Chicken marsala was invented in Sicily. It might have been created by French chefs who moved to Sicily to serve the queen Maria Carolina of Naples and Sicily.[2]
