The lyrics are sung in the first person of a single who is mad because of the police brutality and thinks to take the law into his own hands by killing violent, mad police officers. The song, which lyricist Ice T said it to be as a "protest record."[2] It was made in 1990, and was mostly inspired by bands like Talking Heads.[3]
