Dannevirke is a town in the Tararua District, New Zealand. It is situated on State Highway 2 and is 26 kilometers north of Woodville and 54 kilometers southwest of Waipukurau. It has four primary schools and one high school situated in the town. It thrives on dairy, beef cattle and sheep farming.
