David Allen Aardsma (born December 27, 1981), is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played nine years in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, New York Mets, and Atlanta Braves. He was born in Denver, Colorado.
In 2009, Aardsma earned 38 saves for the Mariners, which tied him for fourth place in the American League with 38 saves.[1]
If the names of all players in Major League Baseball history were listed in alphabetical order, Aardsma's name would come first.[2]
On February 5, 2018, Aardsma announced that he was retiring from playing professional baseball. After retiring, Aardsma became a member of the front office for the Toronto Blue Jays.[3]
