David Oliver Sacks (born May 25, 1972)[1] is a South African-American[2] businessman, author, politician and investor who has been the Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology since 2025. He is a general partner of Craft Ventures, a venture capital fund he co-founded in late 2017.[3] Sacks was the COO and product leader of PayPal,[4] and founder and CEO of Yammer.[5][6]

In 2017, Sacks co-founded Craft Ventures.[7] He also worked for Facebook, Uber, SpaceX, Palantir Technologies, and Airbnb.[8][9][10]

In December 2024, President Donald Trump named Sacks the White House AI and crypto czar for his second administration.[11]
