Dick Gernert

Richard Edward "Dick" Gernert (September 28, 1928 – November 30, 2017) was an American professional baseball player. He was a first baseman and outfielder in Major League Baseball. He played for the Boston Red Sox (1952–59), Chicago Cubs (1960), Detroit Tigers (1960–61), Cincinnati Reds (1961) and Houston Astros (1962). He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Gernert died on November 30, 2017 in Reading, at the age of 89.[1]
