Dirk Demets (8 August 1950 – 8 December 2024) was a Belgian football player who played as a midfielder and forward. He was a member of K.V. Kortrijk from 1973 to 1977.

Demets was born in Kortrijk on 8 August 1950. He started playing in the main team of K.V. Kortrijk in 1973. He played a total of 17 matches in the Belgian Pro League and scored three times. He also played in the Belgian Cup. The most known match he played in was during the 1974-75 season in the Belgian Cup against R.S.C. Anderlecht.[1][2][3][4] In 1977 he moved to SC Menen [nl] where he played until 1981. He became later coach at K.V. Kortrijk.[1]

Demets died in Kortrijk on 8 December 2024, at the age of 74 years old.[1][2]
