Donté Lamar Stallworth (born November 10, 1980 in Sacramento, California) is an American former professional football wide receiver. He played parts of 10 years in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and Washington Redskins. Stallworth was drafted out of the University of Tennessee by the New Orleans Saints with the 13th pick in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft. In September 2014, The Huffington Post hired Stallworth to cover national security politics.[1]
On March 14, 2009 Stallworth killed a man while driving drunk. He pleaded guilty.[2] He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, 1,000 hours of community service, 2 years of house arrest, and 8 years probation. He was released from jail on July 10, 2009 and was not allowed to played football until the 2009 season and Super Bowl XLIV ended.
