Classic Media, LLC, using the name DreamWorks Classics, is an American entertainment company. It is owned by DreamWorks Animation, which is a subsidiary of Universal Pictures through Comcast's NBCUniversal. It was founded as Classic Media in 2000 by Eric Ellenbogen and John Engelman.[7] The studio's library is made up of intellectual property catalogs and character brands it hs gotten from other companies. It also includes the licensing rights for some third-party properties. In 2012, DreamWorks Animation acquired Classic Media from its then-owner, Boomerang Media.[5][8]
