Ernst Carl Julius Albrecht (19 June 1930 – 13 December 2014) was a German politician. He was a member of the Christian Democratic Union. He was a former civil servant of the European Commission. He served as Prime Minister of the state of Lower Saxony from 1976 to 1990.
His daughter, Ursula von der Leyen, is the President of the European Commission.
Albrecht died on 13 December 2014 from Alzheimer's disease, aged 84.[1]
