Exit the Gungeon is a bullet hell platform video game. It was published by Devolver Digital and was developed by both Dodge Roll and Singlecore Games.[1]

It was released on September 19, 2019 for iOS, March 17, 2020 for macOS, Windows, and the Nintendo Switch, and November 13, 2020 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.[2][3][4]

The player controls a member of a group called The Gungeoneers. While they are riding an elevator, the player has to kill multiple enemies that spawn and travel through levels to try and escape the crumbling Gungeon.[5]

The game is a sequel to the 2016 video game titled Enter the Gungeon.

Reception[change | change source]

The game recieved mixed reviews by game critics. Critics said that they felt that it was a nice way to keep the series going and that the game felt fun because of the chaotic nature of it. However, some critics did not like the constant swapping of weapons, saying that some of the weapons felt almost unusable because of the combination of fast-paced gameplay and trigger speed.[6][5][7]
