Flag of East Germany (1949–1959) looks just like the flag Of Weimar Republic in 1918 and the current German Flag before being replaced by the Flag Of The Nazi Party in 1935 .

The flag of East Germany was adopted in 1959. The flag of East Germany used from 1949 to 1959 was identical to the West German flag, In 1959 a emblem featured a compass and hammer was added to the flag in 1959 and remained in use until 1990 almost a year after the Fall Of The Berlin Wall in November 1989 .
