Francesco de Pinedo

Francesco de Pinedo was an Italian pilot born in 1890 in Naples, Italy.

He served in the Italian navy until 1917 where he got his pilot license.

He was well known for his truly astonishing 55 thousand km flight where he went from Rome to Tokyo to Australia and then returned to Rome.

He passed away in 1933 because of a mishap during takeoff in New York.
