Geometry Dash (also known as GD) is a rhythm-based platform game developed and published by RobTop Games. It started being sold for $2.00 on August 13, 2013, and is a 2D platform game that involves dodging geometric obstacles (spikes, walls, and creatures) in a series of levels. Players can create levels in the editor, and play levels made by other players. To finish levels, they have to get through the whole level without dying to an obstacle. They can collect items such as coins, stars, orbs, diamonds, moons, and demon keys for the wide selection of icon chests.
There are a variety of game modes in the game, such as the cube, ship, ball, ufo (bird in games code), wave ("dart" in games code), robot, spider, and the swing (also known as the swing-copter), and the recently-added platformer mode.
Gameplay[change | change source]
The player either uses the keyboard, touch screen, controller, mouse, etc. to control the icon. Ingame currencies in Geometry Dash can range from being easy to hard to collect.
The ways to collect currency are by completing quests and lists for diamonds and completing map packs for secret coins and stars. Platformer levels reward moons instead. Beating rated levels will give orbs too (since 2.1), while collecting the user coins (since 2.0) will unlock user coin achievements.
