Giengen an der Brenz is a town in Heidenheim in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is near the border with Bavaria. It is about 30 km northeast of Ulm. Giengen is home to the headquarters of Steiff, a plush toy company, founded in 1880. It is placed on the Nuremberg-Ulm-Constance route, one of the main routes of the Compostella Trail. Pilgrims walk on their way to Santiago de Compostella and many people visit it each year.
It is the birthplace of Margarete Steiff, who invented the teddy bear.
