Grady Tate

Grady Tate (January 14, 1932 – October 8, 2017)[1] was an American hard bop and soul-jazz drummer and singer. He was born in Durham, North Carolina. He was known with a distinctive baritone voice. In addition to his work as sideman, Tate has released many albums as leader and vocalist[1] as well as lent his voice to a number of songs in the animated Schoolhouse Rock! series.

Tate died on October 8, 2017 at his Manhattan, New York home at the age of 85.[2]
