The word "changer"[change source]

On this page the typical term "editor" was replaced by "changer". That sounds somewhat odd to me, but maybe it's just because I'm used to the typical Wikipedia terminology of "editors" or "users". Still, I have rarely if ever heard a person referred to as simply "a changer". Should we edit/change it to "user"? 73.170.137.168 (talk) 06:10, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it to "user", as well as done some other changes to this help page. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 06:19, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That looks better. I also notice:
  • "This is a conflict between changers that is undetectable by the mechanism that decides whether to give the "change conflict" message."
  • "Some people change pages by copying the source text into a text changer"
As for the second one, "text editor" is a well-known type of software, but I don't know if "text changer" will be widely understood.
I know this was done because "change" is considered simpler than "edit", but I don't know that was really clear enough. 73.170.137.168 (talk) 06:31, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
