Homebase is a British home improvement retailer and garden centre in the United Kingdom. Its main offices are in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England.
As of December 2016, Homebase has 255 shops in the United Kingdom.[2]
History
[change | change source]It was founded by the supermarket chain Sainsbury's and Belgian retailer GB-Inno-BM in 1979, as Sainsbury's Homebase.
In December 2000, Sainsbury's sold the Homebase chain.
In November 2002, Homebase was sold again, to GUS plc, It became Argos Retail Group (later renamed as Home Retail Group).[3]
In February 2016, Australian retailer Wesfarmers bought Homebase.[4][5]
