Horacio Fidel Cardo (May 20, 1944 – October 22, 2018) was an Argentine painter and illustrator. He was born in Buenos Aires. He not only created paintings and three-dimensional works, but also focused on humour, drawing, and book illustration.[1] From 1983 to 2007, he worked regularly as a freelancer in The New York Times. From 1994 onward, he worked as freelancer with the International Herald Tribune (The Global Edition of the New York Times).

Cardo died in Buenos Aires on October 22, 2018 of stomach cancer at the age of 74.[2]
