The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are 17th generation smartphones developed and made by Apple.[15][16][17] Shared at an Apple Event on September 12, 2023.[18] People can buy early on September 15, 2023.[19][20] People can buy it on September 22, 2023.[21][22] Apple changed lighting connector to USB Type C to follow the rules of the European Union.[23] iPhone 15 Plus has a 6.7 Inch bigger 460ppi OLED display, and iPhone 15 has a 6.1 Inch 460ppi OLED display.[24] The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus has a Apple A16 Bionic chipset.[25]

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus has a 60hz refresh rate display.[26] Along with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, were shared at an Apple event on September 12, 2023.[27][28][29] This phone after to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. it has a bigger battery, camera updates and faster performance.[30]

In September 2023, European commission started looking into a plan to make all devices in the European Union such as iPhone to use USB Type C chargers.[31][32] It is the first iPhone to use USB Type C.[33][34]

The iPhone 15 reached 3% of 1.22 Billion smartphone were sold in 2024, making it one of best-selling worldwide phone in Q3 2024.[35][36][37]

Some people with an iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus say it gets hot while setup or backup.[38][39] iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus get hot when people use the apps like Uber and Instagram.[40] Some people with an iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max say it still keeps getting hot in some apps after iOS 17.0.3 updates.[41] it has been fixed later for getting hot in iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus after the next iOS 17 updates.[42][43]

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have a first big design change look like the iPhone 12. iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus with Dynamic Island, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus has a ceramic shield making it difficult to break if dropped it. iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus comes with five colors such as blue, pink, yellow, green and black.[44][45]

Business insider reviewing the iPhone 15 Plus, in good reviews, such as bigger 6.7 Inch screen, longer battery life and features look like a iPhone 15, in bad reviews, such as no 120hz refresh rate display, some people might not like a bigger sizes and The USB Type C is not faster than lightning connector.[64]

CNET reviewing the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, in good reviews, such as better USB Type C charging ports, colorful design, changes camera that take a pet and people pictures by itself, and better dynamic island, in bad reviews, such as no always display, Find My Friends only works with other iPhone 15 phones, cheaper iPhone 14 Pro may better deal and Samsung Galaxy S23 has a more zoom options than iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, The reviews ratings 8.9 of 10.[65]

The Verge reviewing the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, in good reviews such as easier to hold, strong performance, very good battery life for iPhone 15 Plus, useful camera features, Dynamic Island enjoy and useful, and USB Type C charger port, in bad reviews such as display does not have a new features like an always on display and 120hz refresh rate, USB-C transfer data slowly, and ultrawide camera is the same, and no real telephoto.[66]
