János Kornai, 2005

János Kornai (21 January 1928 – 18 October 2021) was a Hungarian economist.[2] He was known for criticism of command economies of Eastern European communist states. He was emeritus professor at both Harvard University and Corvinus University of Budapest. In 1982, he became a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Kornai died on 18 October 2021, at the age of 93.[3]
