Elizabeth Jean Peters (October 15, 1926 – October 13, 2000) was an American movie actress. She was known for being the second wife of Howard Hughes. Her best known movie role was in Pickup on South Street (1953). Peters was also known for not wanting to become a sex symbol.[1]

Peters died of leukemia on October 13, 2000 in Carlsbad, California, two days before her 74th birthday.[2]
