Samuel James "Sugar Jim" Henry (October 23, 1920 – January 21, 2004) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. Henry played 406 games in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played with the New York Rangers, Chicago Black Hawks, and Boston Bruins.
Henry also played in the AHL for the New Haven Eagles/New Haven Ramblers and Indianapolis Capitals, as well as the USHL for the Kansas City Mohawks and the Omaha Knights. He retired from playing professional ice hockey in 1959 after playing 9 games with the St. Paul Saints of the IHL. After he retired, Henry coached the Toledo Mercurys of the IHL for 1 season and the Brandon Wheat Kings of the SJHL for 1 season.
On October 7, 1948, he was involved in a trade which sent him to the Chicago Black Hawkss for Emile Francis and Alex Kaleta.[1] He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame & Museum in 2004.[1] He died on January 21, 2004.
