J. J. M. "Jo" Simons (1938 – January 2025) was a Dutch politician. He was a member of the Catholic People's Party (KVP) and later Christian Democratic Appeal.
Simons was born in Pey in 1938. He started working in 1955 at the age of 17 at the town hall in Linne and became a municipal secretary. In September 1976 he was appointed mayor of Broekhuizen. He was mayor there until 1985 and was replaced by Ruud Vermaaten . In 1985 he was appointed mayor of Heel en Panheel and from 1986 he was also mayor of Beegden. After the merger of the municipalities of Heel and Panheel, Beegden and Wessem into the municipality of Heel, Simons became mayor of this merged municipality, which he would remain until his early retirement in 1995. Upon his retirement, Simons was appointed Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau. Simons died in 2025 at the age of 86.[1][2][3]
