Jodie Turner-Smith (born September 7, 1986)[1] is a British[2] actress and model. She is known for her work in The Last Ship (2017), Nightflyers (2018), Queen & Slim (2019), and Without Remorse (2021).[3]
Early life
[change | change source]Turner-Smith was born in Peterborough, England,[4] to Jamaican parents.[5] She lived in Peterborough until she was 10 years old.[5] She moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland in the United States after her parents divorced.[6] She studied at the University of Pittsburgh and has lived in Los Angeles since 2009.[3]
Career
[change | change source]Turner-Smith began acting in 2013, when she appeared in an episode of True Blood. She was in some music videos between 2013 and 2017. In 2016, she appeared in the music video for Zayn Malik's "Pillowtalk."[7]
Personal life
[change | change source]Turner-Smith began a relationship with actor Joshua Jackson in October 2018.[8] They were married in December 2019.[9] They have a daughter.[10] In October 2023, it was revealed that Turner-Smith had filed for divorce from Jackson.[11]
