Joseph Patrick "Joe" Mauer (born April 19, 1983 in Saint Paul, Minnesota) is a retired baseball player who spent his entire Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the Minnesota Twins. He played catcher for most of his MLB career, moving to first base after suffering a severe concussion in 2013. He was the 2009 Most Valuable Player in the American League, and had the highest batting average in the American League in 2006, 2008, and 2009.
Mauer was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2024.
