John J. Cornwell

John J. Cornwell was an American Democratic Party politician who served as governor of West Virginia from 1917 to 1921.

A supporter of progressive measures like workmen’s compensation and an eight-hour day,[1] Cornwell’s time as governor witnessed the passage of a wide range of reforms[2] in areas such as working conditions.[3][4]
