Jos van Kemenade

Josephus Antonius van Kemenade (6 March 1937 – 19 February 2020) was a Dutch politician and sociologist. He was a member of the Labour Party (PvdA). He was the Queen's Commissioner of North Holland from 1992 to 2002. He served as Minister of Education and Sciences twice: from 1973 to 1977 and from 1981 to 1982. He also served as mayor of Eindhoven from 1988 to 1992. He was a member of the House of Representatives (1977, 1978–1981 and 1982–1984). He was granted the honorary title of Minister of State on 5 April 2002.
Van Kemenade was born in Amsterdam, North Holland. He died on 19 February 2020 in Heiloo, North Holland. He was 82.[1]
