An earthquake, about moment magnitude (Mw ) 6.2, hit the Durand Line, between Afghanistan and Pakistan on 22 June 2022 at 02:24 Afghanistan Time (UTC+4:30).
The earthquake destroyed many houses in Afghanistan. It was felt in the southern parts of India and Pakistan's capital Islamabad and eastern Punjab province.[2] At least 1000 people were killed and 1500 were injured.[3]
