Kathleen Kennedy Townsend (born July 4, 1951) is an American lawyer. She was the sixth Lieutenant Governor of Maryland from 1995 to 2003.[1] She was unsuccessful in her run for Governor of Maryland in 2002.[2] Kennedy Townsend worked for state government of Maryland, including Attorney General.
Career
[change | change source]In 2010 Kennedy Townsend became the chair of the non-profit American Bridge, an organization which raises funds for Democratic candidates and causes. She is a member of the prominent Kennedy family.
Personal life
[change | change source]Kennedy Townsend's father is the assassinated Robert F. Kennedy. Her father was killed in 1968.
