Lee Konitz (October 13, 1927 – April 15, 2020) was an American jazz composer and alto saxophonist. He was thought to be one of the main people involved in the cool jazz movement. Konitz has also performed successfully in bebop and experimental jazz.

Konitz was born in Chicago.[2]

Konitz died in New York City on April 15, 2020 of COVID-19.[3]
