List of United States House of Representatives committees

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Members of the Committee on Financial Services sit in the tiers of raised chairs (R), while those testifying and audience members sit below (L).

There are two main types of congressional committees in the United States House of Representatives, standing committees and select committees.

The current House committees were created from the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946. This bill decreased the number of House committees, and it changed the committees' jurisdictions.[1]
