Mahamat ibn Idriss Déby Itno (Arabic: محمود بن إدريس ديبي إتنو, romanized: Mahmūd ibn Idrīs Daybī Itnū; born 4 April 1984), also known by his nickname, Mahamat Kaka, is a Chadian politician and general who is the 7th and current President of Chad since 2022. Previously, he was the acting president of Chad and also the Chairman of the Transitional Military Council from 2021 to 2022. Déby took power after his father, the late president Idriss Déby, was killed while fighting at the 2021 Northern Chad offensive.
