Mahmoud Ahmad Marei (Arabic: محمود أحمد مرعي; born 1957) is a Syrian politician,[1] lawyer, current leader of the Arab Organization for Human Rights,[2] and former secretary-general of the National Democratic Front, a small opposition party.[3]
About
[change | change source]He was born in Talfita, Rif Dimashq, Syria. He studied law at Damascus University and graduated in 1993.[4]
He is the former president of the Youth Office at the National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change. In 2017 he spoke at the Geneva peace talks about Syria.[5]
He was a candidate in the 2021 Syrian presidential election[6] but his political party said that they had made him leave in 2013.[7]
